BAV, Inc. was established under the name Brown's Applied Vinyl in 1977 by James "Lamar" Jordan, (pictured below) as a subsidiary of Schwartz Jordan Construction Co., a prominent Acoustical and Drywall Subcontractor in the Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston area.
Brown's Applied Vinyl laminated vinyl to gypsum wall board and manufactured the KW500 movable wall system for its parent company Schwartz Jordan. In 1984 the name of the company was changed to BAV, Inc. after separating from Schwartz Jordan the previous year. After the name change, the company began to diversify into the distribution of commercial construction materials. BAV became the second authorized distributor of Armstrong Ceiling Products in the United States.
Lamar Jordan sold the company to his daughter, Melanie Jordan, in 1992 and we became one of the first woman owned and operated acoustical distributors in the nation. In 2000 Cindy Scoggins became President and COO of BAV and continued to move the company toward a full service distributor model. Adding trucks and equipment to capture the booming growth in the Dallas and Fort Worth market, we rapidly developed into a full service provider of interior finish out products serving our customers from two locations in the metroplex.
We made a commitment back then as we do today to be the most knowledgeable, service oriented distributor in the acoustical ceiling supply business.
